It Started with Cafecito

Long before Hestia Grinds, there was cafecito.

Some of my earliest memories of coffee began at my grandmother’s house. My parents worked early mornings, so I would often arrive before the sun came up. When I woke up, it was cafecito time.

I was too young for coffee, so mine was warm milk with chocolate while my grandmother enjoyed hers. She taught me to dip my pan dulce into my cup—a simple tradition that became one of my favorite memories.

Coffee became more than a drink. It became family, conversation, culture, and home.

From Tradition to Hestia Grinds

As I got older, cafecito remained part of our family rhythm. On weekends, my dad would let me dip bread or cookies into his coffee—even though he hated getting crumbs in his cup. Eventually, I earned that treasured last sip.

Coffee was there for slow mornings, family conversations, and the moments that brought everyone together.

Those memories became part of the heart behind Hestia Grinds. We wanted to create something that carried that same feeling forward—coffee that feels welcoming, familiar, and meant to be shared.

Hestia Grinds was built from the belief that coffee has a way of bringing people together. Around the kitchen table, at a local market, or over a cup from our cart, we want every experience to feel warm, familiar, and connected.

    Coffee has always been part of our family’s ritual, from early mornings at Grandma’s house to weekend conversations and why not, a little chismecito session. For us, a cup of coffee has never been just a drink. It’s comfort, connection, and a reason to slow down together.

    Our love for coffee is tied to the traditions we grew up with, pan para el cafecito, family gathered around the table, and little rituals passed from one generation to the next. Hestia Grinds is our way of keeping those memories close while creating new ones of our own.

    Some of our favorite memories were made simply sitting together over coffee. Today, we get to carry that feeling beyond our own table, into local markets, celebrations, businesses, and homes. Every cup gives us another opportunity to bring people together.
